Description

Abell 1060 is the Hydra galaxy cluster of 157 galaxies.  The bluish elongated galaxy is NGC 3312 and has been distorted by gravitational interactions with nearby galaxies.  NGC 3314 is a pair of overlapping galaxies ranging at a distance from 117 to 140 million light years away.  These galaxies are by chance aligned along our line of sight. Abell 1060 is about 10 million light years across.
